- Mac Auditor

-
- Mac Auditor is a program that allows you to scan volumes for
- Applications, Startup Documents (INIT), Control Panel Devices (CDEV)
- and Stacks. Its used primarily by auditors to make sure that the
- employee’s machine have only registered software on there machines.
- (Companies don’t like to be sued over petty things like software
- piracy) :-)
-
- The best way to use the program is to put it on a floppy disk and go
- from machine to machine scanning the user's hard disks (and floppies).
-
- After you launch the program, click on the options button to set what
- file types that you want to search for. If you want you can also
- include extract the version from the file by select “include version
- information”.
-
- Select the drive that you want to scan and click the scan button.
- After the program is done scanning, it will display what it found in
- the list box. Save the report and then you can quit.
-
- There is not much to the program. Its basically a cataloging program.
- The next version will be a full functioning application with printing
- and non modal behavior and maybe some kind of virus protection (I
- hope).
-
- This program is shareware. If you find it usefull you must
- register it using the Register program that came with it.
